Zaragoza, 8th April 2021
Montepino Logística, one of the largest logistics developers and asset managers in Spain, has delivered its new technological and industrial centre in Barcelona to Eternity Technologies. The complex, which covers a total surface area of 10,508 m2 in the Can Serra industrial estate in Sant Esteve Sesrovires, will begin its activity this week following the completion of works that began last summer.
The expansion of Eternity Technologies' installations will allow the industrial battery company to open new central offices in an environment featuring the most advanced machinery and the most modern manufacturing processes in both IT and technical development.
With a manufacturing capacity of 240,000 traction elements, expandable up to 400,000, this new plant, the second Eternity has opened in Europe, is improving Eternity's versatility and will allow it to reduce delivery times to customers. It has also led to the creation of some 20 new jobs.
The new production hub, which will produce premium batteries manufactured in accordance with international quality, environmental, security and health standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSA 18001, also meets all the standards established by the LEED energy certification, with a sustainable energy consumption and high levels of efficiency.
Investment in the Catalan market
With the delivery of this project, which represents an investment of over €5 million, Montepino is strengthening its investment in the Catalan logistics market, which it first launched in 2018 and where it has now developed five projects, covering a total surface area of over 47,000 m2. The logistics company has now invested €51 million in Catalonia.
In addition to the new Eternity Technologies logistics and industrial centre, which occupies Building A of the land Montepino acquired in the Can Serra industrial estate in Sant Esteve Sesrovires, the company is working on Building B, which covers a total surface area of 12,468 m2 and which will serve as a distribution centre.
In Castellbisbal, meanwhile, Montepino has built a last-mile delivery cross-docking platform for XPO Logistics, with a total surface area of 37,656 m2. It is also working on its Castellbisbal II project in the same location: a distribution centre occupying an area of 30,015 m2, which will be delivered in September 2021.
The logistics company is currently also working on the construction of a last-mile platform to be delivered in June 2021, which occupies a total surface area of 10,070 m2 in the municipality of Barberá del Vallés.
